ATB Austria offers a complete series of Ex “d (e)” motors according to the new IE3 efficiency class within the framework of the new IEC / EN 60034-30 standard - from 0.75 to 200 kW. Although "Ex" motors do not come under the new regulation No. 640/2009 of EU Directive 2005/32 / CE, the (petro) chemical and pharmaceutical industries have always been pioneers in the implementation of new (environmentally friendly) applications. Thus, these engines find a wide range of applications in numerous companies that focus on reducing their carbon footprints.
Over 20 years, procurement and maintenance costs only account for 3% of the total costs. Therefore, energy consumption is responsible for 97% of the investment. The payback period compared to a normal engine is obviously very short - depending on the operating time, this period can only be a few months at best.
The motors are available in II 2G Ex de IIC(B) T4 for zone 1 and in II 2G/D Ex de IIC(B) T4 for zones 1/21 and 1/22. Other guidelines such as VIK /GOST and marine versions are also possible. The manufacturer also offers motors for low ambient temperatures down to -55 °C without standstill heating. Because all motors are wrapped with copper wire, stepless speed control with a frequency converter without a filter is possible up to a mains voltage of 500 V.
