Heavy Duty drive chains burst in agrar machines harsh environment

In the agricultural industry, there are some of the most demanding environmental conditions for the drive elements installed in agricultural machines. Because these, and thus also the drive chains, are expected to be used continuously throughout the entire harvest season in order to make the best possible use of the often small time window. This also applies to Unia balers, in which Tsubaki ensures reliability with its transmission elements.
For farmers, the maximum yield is the primary target for bale presses. This places some demands on the drive chains installed therein: Shock loads during the formation of the bale can weaken the lower chain, which can lead to an extension and / or worst case failure of the chain. In addition, a considerable force is required to form the bale. In order to produce uniformly shaped bales, drive chains are operated with high pre-stresses.
Partnership ensures service
The partnership with Poland's largest manufacturer of agricultural machines, the Unia Group, underlines the importance of this industry for the drive specialist and illustrates the influence of Tsubaki in this industrial sector. The manufacturer of among others plows, sowing machines, harrows, mowers and rakes produces 25.000 machines every year, from which he exports 10.000 to foreign markets. The Unia Group is proud of its service to prevent downtime caused by 30 dealers across the EU. In order to pursue this philosophy, Unia has brought Tsubaki as a chain supplier into the boat: Within the framework of an 3-year agreement, the cooperation between the two companies is consolidated and further developed.
Increased tensile strength
With the "Heavy Duty Chain", the drive specialist offers a high-quality chain series for use in Unias baling presses. This can also be individually adapted to the application, which reduces possible downtimes to an absolute minimum. Thanks to the increased tensile strength provided by the reinforced plates and pins of these roller chains, they will also function reliably over many seasons. H Series plates are as thick as the plates of the next largest pitch on standard ANSI G8 chain.
The tabs thus enable a nine percent higher fatigue strength. The use of seamless bushes also doubles the wear resistance compared to the previous H series. H Series chains offer 100 percent minimum breaking strength and 109 percent fatigue strength.
Other applications
The heavy load chains are suitable not only for use in agricultural machines, but also for extreme applications in which high alternating loads occur in the low and medium speed range, even under extreme environmental conditions. For example, they perform their duties reliably in mining, in the steel industry in bulk handling, or in port facilities.
