We only start production once the specification has been established,” explains Stefan Kunzmann, Head of Design at BEN Buchele.
What is new is that, despite all the individuality, a series with standard sizes has now been defined as a guide. “Nevertheless, you have to look at each engine as a one-off, which we still do specially tailored to customer requirements", says Stefan Kunzmann. This also includes the special version, which can meet individual requirements from the standstill heating to the built-in backstop. For more powerful frequency converter-controlled motors, the manufacturer has provided current-insulated storage as standard.
Explosion-proof motors and special motors with high efficiency
The water-cooled engines are made of steel. Although gray cast iron housings are often common, the steel version is more flexible, cheaper and more durable in terms of external environmental influences. The painting of the engine is matched to the customer applications, some of which are subject to specific standards. For example, salty sea air requires a different coating than, for example, certain chemicals in sewage treatment plants or exhaust gases in tunnels.
The water-cooled engines also offer a multi foot attachment. This enables eight screwing positions, each at a 45° angle. As a result, the terminal box is always optimally accessible, depending on the installation situation. The coolant connections are located axially on the non-drive side. This allows the terminal box layer to be turned to any position without the connections getting in the way.
