Resistance series with cross contact of unprecedented power

With the VLx Resistance series bring the Isabellenhütte Resistors with previously unknown performance on the market. By reversing the length to width ratio, extremely low resistance values (e.g. 1 mOhm in the 0612 design) can be achieved by expanding the range.
The larger area of the soldering and contact points on the resistor row improves the mechanical strength of the soldering points in the event of temperature and load changes and at the same time guarantees an ideal Heat dissipation via the soldering points in the circuit board.
In addition, the new mechanical structure of the resistor series significantly improves the mechanical stability and the internal thermal resistance (Rthi up to 10 K / W), so that the heat produced in the components can be dissipated very efficiently to the contacts. The components of the resistor series are therefore smaller despite this SMD design comparatively very highly resilient.
Technical data of the resistor series
The Operating temperature range results between -65 ° and +170 ° C. VLx resistors can also be used at high temperatures under full load (e.g. type 1020: 2 W continuous output at 140 ° C, continuous currents up to 45 A). The TK is extremely low at 50 ppm / K for all resistance values. Sample quantities with resistance values of 1, 3, 10 and 50 mOhm with tolerances of 1% and 5% are available on request from February 2011; The components are expected to go into series production from mid-2011.
Applications include control units in the Automotive industry, Power modules, frequency converter and switching power supplies. Apart from that, the VLx resistors are used as measuring resistors for power hybrids.
