MS-Schramberg's magnetic sensors are used in various applications, particularly in the automotive industry. Here, magnetic field sensors ensure the smooth functioning of airbags, engine controls or anti-lock braking systems, for example. For the steering areaangle sensorThe company is also presenting measuring gears with integrated magnets for backlash-free gearing.
The manufacturer developed this component together with a customer. It consists of two single gears, which are elastically connected by a spring. The production of the gears, including the integrated magnets, the production of the spring and the installation of the complete gear is done on a fully automatic system designed by the magnet specialist.
The exhibits also include sensor magnet rings (picture). Among other things, these are used to record speed and angle of rotation. So far, because of their high brittleness, sensor magnets were first sprayed onto carrier bushings made of metal or plastic.
This component was then pressed onto the motor shaft by the customer. Thanks to a new, more flexible magnet compound with better properties in terms of elongation and tensile strength, it is now possible to do without the carrier bushings.
