The combination of interlock on the protective door and Standstill monitor im switch cabinet protects machines and systems from the dangerous overtravel movements of the Drives. Schmersal group now presents a new standstill monitor SSW303HV that works without sensors. Compared to the previous models of the AZR and FWS series, this security guard brings significant improvements.
The new standstill monitor can be used universally and replaces fourteen variants of the previous portfolio. This enables, among other things, a wide-range power supply for all common operating voltages such as direct and alternating current from 24 VDC / 24 VAC to 230 VAC. The increased temperature range from -25 ° to +55 ° C opens up additional applications.
Another benefit is that compact design: The security guard SSW303HV is very compact with a width of 45 mm and takes up little space in the switch cabinet. The pluggable and coded connection terminals allow quick and error-free installation. An additional signaling contact provides information about the error status of the safety module.
The standstill monitor implements standstill monitoring sensorless by monitoring the EMF (electromagnetic force). The machine designer therefore does not need to intervene in the hardware of the construction. The safety monitor is connected directly to a three-phase three-phase motor. Here it directly measures the frequency of the induced voltage at rated motor voltages up to 690 V. As soon as the motor comes to a standstill, the safety contacts close to enable a locking device.
The new security guard is in security circuits up to Category 4 / Performance Level e according to EN 13849-1 and SIL 3 according to EN IEC 61508 can be used with all common types of safety locking devices from relevant manufacturers.
