FaigleWherever countless pallets, packages or plastic containers have to be transported through the warehouses at high speed over long distances, plastic slide rails are suitable for guiding the roller chains. To transport particularly heavy weights, Faigle now presents new special materials that can withstand even if the previously used UHMW polyethylene fails.

In order to ensure wear and quiet operation of the leading roller chains, many manufacturers of automated conveyor and bearing systems use plastic sliding strips made of UHMW polyethylene. If, however, you want to transport lattice boxes with up to 1000 kg or pallets with up to 1500 kg, the manufacturer of conveyors will quickly see the limits of this standard material. Due to the high loads of the heavy conveyed material, the rollers are pushed very deeply into the sliding strips, thus creating a rolling effect in the plastic strip, which can lead to breakouts and even melting away of the sliding strip, thus resulting in a failure of the system.

In cooperation with a well-known conveyor technology manufacturer, Faigle Kunststoffe developed a modified one polyamide, which on the one hand withstands these high pressure loads over the long term and on the other hand meets the target criteria such as sliding properties, frictional resistance, wear and tear and dimensional stability. The base material for these wear strips are the special developments PAS 60 X, PAS 60 X modified and PAS 80 X. They were additionally modified with glass beads, glass fibers and carbon fibers in order to further increase the compressive strength and rigidity. With this modified polyamide, a material was found for the slide rails that meets the highest pressure load requirements and thus offers users a wealth of new application options.
