Integration of the Sonderhoff portfolio into Henkel completed

The two and a half year old has been at the end of December 2019 integration phase of Sonderhoff Group of companies in the Henkel AG & Co. KGaA completed. All Sonderhoff companies have been part of the division since January 1, 2020 Adhesive Technologies integrated. The former Sonderhoff locations in Germany, Austria, Italy and the USA are now trading under Henkel. Only the Sonderhoff location in China will continue to operate under the previous name. As before, customers will be looked after from these locations.
The operational activities of Sonderhoff will continue to be managed from Cologne and are organizationally a business unit of Henkel Adhesive Technologies assigned. The Sonderhoff portfolio is managed as the Sonderhoff brand by Henkel Adhesive Technologies, a leading global provider of Adhesives, Sealants and functional coatings.
Microdosing of adhesive for the production of fiber optic cables
With this brand, Henkel offers its customers a Technology platform for tailor-made sealing, gluing and potting solutions with Formed-In-Place (FIP) technology. Henkel provides users with materials, machines and contract manufacturing from a single source.
The advantages of customer-specific solutions lie in the close, coordinated interplay of material formulation, mechanical engineering and process know-how. The offer consists specifically of foam sealing, adhesive and casting systems based on silicone, polyurethane or PVC as well as mixing and dosing systems for the automated application of material to industrial components. Henkel also offers OEMs and suppliers individual automation concepts and application engineering advice.
Make or buy option
With the Sonderhoff portfolio, Henkel offers a Make or buy option. He can buy the FIP technology from a single source for his own production and receives the machines and material systems optimally adapted to his manufacturing process. Or Henkel takes on the foam sealing, gluing and potting of the components on the Sonderhoff mixing and molding machines dosing at the contract manufacturing sites. The spectrum ranges from the sampling of prototypes and small series to taking over series production on a production scale.
