HV connector for electric and hybrid vehicles

Draxlmaier presents one HV connector (High Voltage) for cross-industry use such as the automotive industry, shipping or railway and rail traffic. The high-voltage connector was developed for cross-section ranges from 16 to 50 mm² in aluminum and copper cables and meets all safety requirements for voltages of up to 1000 V and high direct current. 

This is how the High Voltage shows itself Connectors in a range from -40 C to 170 °C as extremely temperature and aging resistant. For example, at 83 °C the current carrying capacity of a 50 mm² cable is 275 A.

Compatible for AK interfaces

In addition, the waterproof HV connector is compatible with AK interfaces and has a closed 360° contact as well as long-term stable conductor connections. The HV connector was able to successfully demonstrate its robustness in vibration tests on rough and high-speed routes. The high-voltage connector meets the requirements for vibration resistance according to LV 215. In addition, the HV connector ensures very good EMC shielding. It is available in a two-pin and three-pin version with the associated header.

From 2015, the HV connector will be available in electric and hybridvehicles used by two German automobile manufacturers.
