Developers save the impedance values ​​of Vishay's SMD ferrite beads from the Z vs. frequency characteristic in the product datasheet, making it easier to use these components in filter circuits. As the bias current increases, the effective impedance of a ferrite bead decreases due to the gradual saturation. So far, estimating this impedance reduction has been a tricky business. The calculator also provides this information and helps developers achieve the desired impedance for a given bias current without having to experiment with different ferrite beads.
