Beckhoff presented with the ultra compact Industry PC (IPC) C7015 a decentrally installable Edge Device in Degree of protection IP 65/67 for direct installation in the machine or system. In its function as a control computer, the IPC reduces the switch cabinetspace, simplifies the design of the machine and allows subsequent expansion of the system. The only 85 x 167 x 43 mm small and lüfterlos working industrial computer is suitable for on-site assembly in the field.
The C7015 is powerful Intel Atom multicore CPU equipped with up to four processor cores. This enables significantly more complex applications to be implemented than with conventional ARM-based edge devices. Decentralized data preprocessing and the acquisition of large amounts of data are also possible.
With IP 65/67 protection, the IPC also withstands the requirements of harsh machine environments.
Decentralized machine control with Ethercat P
The industrial PC is suitable as a highly functional one Machinecontrol. The saved control cabinet space is reinforced by the use of additional components from Beckhoff with a high degree of protection. Possible here are z. B. the decentralized servo drive system AMP8000 and the Ethercat PI / O modules of the EPP series. The machine concept can be significantly simplified and the effort for subsequent expansions such as the addition of an energy data acquisition can be minimized.
Smartwatch for hazardous areas
The integrated Ethercat P connector of Industry PC opens up new possibilities for an efficient sensor / actuator connection via the IP 67-protected EPP modules. Complex diagnosis and condition monitoring tasks can be implemented locally. If necessary, additional EPP modules can be connected.
