Hard molded plastic and alternative to POM

The PET-P material “Ertalyte” from Quadrant sometimes has better properties than the widely used POM and can replace it in many cases. Compared to POM, PET-P has less wear and better dimensional stability. In the Sahlberg Polymer Center, the material is tailored and processed according to the individual wishes of the customer. Users receive Ertalyte adapted to their needs and can thus directly process the semi-finished product or install the finished part.

The PET-P remains so even with changes in temperature and water intake in the form. The material also has good electrical insulation properties and is suitable for contact with food, since it corresponds to the EU Regulation 10 / 2011. So he comes often for machine and plant engineering in the food industry for use. Examples are the knife holder in cutting equipment, mold plates of burgers and cookies or Teigportionierer. In addition, other applications can be found in mechanical engineering, such as tram brakes, for pistons of water desalination and for plain bearings telescopic cranes.

Whether Ertalyte or POM is better suited for an application that must always be decided individually. Ertalyte is available as PET-P-based material, as well as a modified self-lubricating option.
