ZF Friedrichshafen introduces a new hollow shaft gear for main spindle drives. The new range will initially start with the variants and HWG 280 380. They belong to the "Duoplan" model family and offer the manufacturer a lot of advantages over traditional two-speed transmissions:
By decoupling the planetary gear set in direct gear (1: 1) at high speeds, the rotating masses are reduced. This results in short run-up times, a very low temperature development and very low vibration values of less than 1 mm / s. Through the hollow shaft push rods for dissolving units or coolant can be performed. The very low heat input through the rotating sealing surfaces is achieved due to the small shaft diameter.
The gearbox is specially designed for direct attachment to spindle and motor (inline, RAM integration). As a result, machines that were previously designed exclusively for direct drive can also be offered with gear options. Depending on the size, speeds up to 18.000 min-1 be driven. The processing options on the machine increase and enable more flexible use.
