Baumer extends his 10th GigE Camera LX series by four new models for industrial image processing. These support applications with very high demands on resolution and image quality. In this way, the smallest details and deviations can be reliably identified. They also offer a very high frame rate for increased throughput.

The cameras with Sony Pregius S sensors deliver 50 images per second at 24 megapixels. The 65 megapixel Gpixel models with 18 frames per second offer an even higher resolution. The new models are particularly suitable for applications such as the inspection of printed circuit boards, displays, semiconductors and 3DMeasurement Technology and track & trace.
Applications with demanding environmental conditions such as sports or rail transport, in short OutdoorRange, are also supported with the robust GigE, which also offer a wide range of functions. Series production of the new models will start in 2020.
The models with Sony Pregius S IMX530 sensor are based on a Backside illumination pixel architecture. This enables reduced shading effects and excellent image quality for stable evaluations. The very compact optical format of 4/3 ”enables the small pixel size of only 2,74 µm.
GigE Vision industrial camera with 1,1 GB / s bandwidth
Existing systems can be equipped with a much higher resolution without changing the optical setup. With C-mount a variety of inexpensive standard lenses is available for every application. For even better image quality, you can also use DRL mount Lenses possible flexibly.
The GMAX65 sensor from Gpixel used in the 3265 megapixel models offers excellent image quality and high Dynamic of 66 dB. The small pixel size of 3,2 µm leads to a compact optical format with a diagonal of 37 mm. This reduces edge shadowing and simplifies lens selection based on the M58 mount.
Push pull M12 connector now standardized thanks to IEC 61076-2-010?
The short exposure time of 19 µs minimizes movement artifacts even at high object speeds. Thanks to the high resolution, the number of cameras required per application can often be halved. This increases reliability and reduces system costs and integration effort.
The new LX models offer a very high functionality to solve demanding applications. These include HDR, Multi ROI, Shading Correction, precise time synchronization according to IEEE 1588 or the direct control of lighting. Based on robust M12 connectors with protection classes IP 65 and IP 67 and a temperature range of -30° to 60 °C, the cameras can withstand even difficult environmental conditions. The 10 GigE interface makes it easy to integrate the cameras, while the images are transferred efficiently with a high bandwidth of 1,1 GB/s. This reduces the evaluation time.
The video explains the five most important reasons why an image processing solution can benefit from the GigE cameras presented.
General technical knowledge
Gigabit Ethernet, GigE for short, is an interface for digital cameras and an interface standard for industrial image processing. It was established in 2006 and is a registered trademark of the Automated Imaging Association (AIA). Industrial cameras can be connected to existing networks via the Gigabit Ethernet standard. Data rates of up to 100 MB / s and cable lengths of up to 100 meters are possible (source Baslerweb, October 19.10.2020, XNUMX)
