Yamaichi Electronics has been producing for almost 15 years in Frankfurt (Oder). This is the only European production location of the Japanese group of companies. Due to capacity bottlenecks, the company management, based in Aschheim-Dornach near Munich, decided to expand the new production halls in the former semiconductor plant in Frankfurt-Markendorf, which they moved into in 2006. The new building has now been inaugurated.

Yamaichi Electronics opens new plant in Frankfurt (Oder)

Yamaichi opening08.09.2020 | After only one year of construction and successful commissioning in April 2020, the new plant was inaugurated and presented to the public at a festive ceremony. The new production halls cover more than 7000 m² of space. Production is highly automated and equipped with the latest Industry 4.0 technologies.

“Of course we are happy about the short construction time, the timely completion and the smooth start of production. But I'm really proud of the great team with which we are continuing our success story at the new location, ”says the European President of Yamaichi Electronics Helge Puhlman.

It offers the flexibility for small, medium and large series. For almost all Yamaichi Electronics markets such as industry, semiconductors, Automation, Automotive, Medical Technology and Measuring and testing technology is produced directly in Germany.

The production Made in Germany includes for example Cable assemblies, molded M12 circular connectors, metallic push-pull circular connectors, RJ45 and USB for harsh environments protected Ethernet Connectors, flexible ribbon cables and test adapters for semiconductor components. Assemblies are also assembled, spring contact pins rotated and individual strands compacted.

Thanks to the bundling of connector production and Cablespackaging at a production site, the company can react quickly to inquiries and implement them promptly. Special knowledge in injection molding technology, machining Metalworking, Component assembly and resistance welding guarantee high quality. The new production was after ISO 9001 and ISO 14.001 certified.

In the future, the building will offer around 7000 m² of modern working environments in the areas of production, logistics and offices. From 2020, the company for test and burn-in sockets, connectors and connection systems will implement projects for the European market in the new production building.

The decision in favor of the property in the immediate vicinity of the previous location was made consciously: "Over the past twelve years, our strong team in Frankfurt an der Oder in the area of ​​the Milling and chipping technology built up so much know-how that only this location came into question for us. In this way, we can retain the current employees and are also planning to create more new jobs," says Helge Puhlmann, European President of Yamaichi Electronics, at the laying of the foundation stone.

The production site was founded 2006. Since then, the company has grown strongly and with it the space and staff requirements. With the spatial change, Yamaichi Electronics wants to optimize its processes and map them in the new building.
