Lubrication-free plastic sliding plates for elephant forces

For the lubrication-free bearing of shafts and rails Igus GmbH, Cologne, offers an extensive range of polymer plain bearings for rotary and lifting movements. The tribologically optimized plastics can also be used for longitudinal movements, among other things. As "Dry Lin" sliding plates for girders of all kinds, up to 2 t can be slowly and dynamically moved, for example steel girders or aluminum floor plates. With four plates, this corresponds to the weight of an African bull elephant.
Lubricant-free sliding plates made of high-performance plastic can be used almost everywhere. They are used when working on any surface. Here the topic of hygiene plays a central role in order to avoid dirt on the bearing points on undefined slideways or paths.
The sliding plates are made of the material "Iglidur J", which combines extremely low friction values with a very long service life. In addition to the good sliding properties, there is high strength and elasticity with simultaneous creep resistance. Due to the good elasticity, permanent deformations are excluded even with sudden load peaks.
The "DryLin" gliders are temperature-resistant up to 90 °C, corrosion and chemical resistant. Larger masses can be moved against various surfaces such as steel, aluminium, stainless steel, etc. with very good wear behavior without the use of lubricants. One Gland the metal insert guarantees a firm hold. The sliding plates are now available as standard parts with short delivery times in outer diameters of 40, 60 and 80 mm. The static load capacity is 120.000, 66.000 or 28.500 N. In addition, the plastics specialist offers numerous "iglidur" semi-finished products for individual geometries. Alternatively, mechanically finished desired shapes and sizes can be ordered directly.
