Miniature shock absorbers optimize production of PET bottles

ACE shock absorbers has developed a completely new generation of miniature shock absorbers for the production of PET bottles. The introduction of the "Maximace" family opens up new possibilities in the production of PET containers. Specially designed for use in Sidel and Krones stretch blow molding machines and compared with previous solutions, thanks to Maximace, existing pneumatically driven designs can be clocked higher than before and production quantities increased without additional wear and tear.
In the manufacturing process, the PET27EUM shock absorbers in various hardnesses (1 - 4) score points in damping the stretch piston as well as braking kinetic energy when closing the mold: Innovative aluminum outer bodies enable better heat dissipation compared to previous solutions. In addition, they are equipped with optimized seals and are designed for temperatures of up to approx. 107 ° C. Thanks to the combination of chrome-plated piston rods, hardened pressure sleeves with throttle bores and special diaphragm accumulators, the new dampers offer a service life of more than 20 million strokes when operating both standard and tuned stretch blow molding machines.
With a total weight of 0,2 kg, the pistons of the dampers, supported by a sturdy spring, return in only 0,1 s. The associated faster cycle times are also achieved by the diaphragm accumulator, which also favors the longer durability of the damper. The combination of new materials and superior interior of the shock absorbers ensures their comparatively higher energy absorption. Reduced recoil forces and extended life lead to less loaded machinery and thus lower downtime. The novelties are very suitable as a replacement solution, because for service technicians, inter alia, because of the color coding of the outer body is immediately apparent which damper is to be integrated at stretch and which blowing stations.
