EKS angel presents the new TSN Analyzer (Time-Sensitive Networking) for industrial automation. The robust diagnostic device was designed in particular for project planning, commissioning, maintenance and continuous monitoring of TSN networks developed. It is a simple alternative to expensive laboratory equipment.

12.10.2022/4.0/XNUMX | Thanks to Innoroute's TSN technology, which has been tried and tested in the LNI XNUMX and IIC testbed, the TSN analyzer, unlike expensive laboratory devices, allows a simple and inexpensive entry into the analysis of the TSN traffic. The management and diagnostic functions can be accessed via the web interface and a self-explanatory graphical user interface or via Command Line Interface (CLI).

The supported real-time standards include methods from the Bridges and Bridged Networks standards IEEE 802.1Q and the IEEE 1588AS profile based on the IEEE 802.1 specification for time synchronization. The range of functions can be individually expanded using optional software modules. These include TSN Endpoint, Traffic Generator and various protocol converters such as from TSN to Profinet or Modbus TCP.

Interfaces and features for the TSN diagnosis

The TSN analyzer has a to access the management and diagnostic functions WLAN interface with dual-band antenna according to IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ac. They can be used to communicate securely via SSH (Secure Shell). Other interfaces are two RJ45 ports for analyzing TSN data traffic, two SMA ports (clock in/clock out) and a 6-pin terminal block for trigger signals (Trig IN/Trig OUT, PPS-IN/PPS-OUT, reference voltage). The data rate, latency and jitter of selected TSN flows are among the network value parameters that can be evaluated.

The passively cooled IP20 TSN analyzer is suitable for a temperature range from -25° to +65 °C. the redundant power supply (12 to 36 VDC) can be supplied either via a power adapter or a USB-C port. The robust housing measuring 145 x 70 x 130 mm is made of powder-coated stainless steel. It can be mounted in various positions on DIN rails and can be used as a desktop device. LEDs on the front indicate various status messages such as operation as a PTP master / PTP slave or the system's readiness for measurement.
