Industry management and system offering

Jumo focus industries

When Moritz Kurt Juchheim founded his company, he had a very clear idea of which customers he wanted to supply and in which sectors. The then MK Juchheim began manufacturing glass and glass contact thermometers on a production area of 350 m².

Right from the start, Mr. Juchheim relied on high-quality instruments and the best possible customer service. The sales market was huge back then: the various branches of industry in West Germany also need Jumo products to get the economy up and running again after the war. At that time, these were also featured in the very first catalogs and at trade fairs according to customer target group offered in order. With this, the first branch management has already been introduced.

early 2000s Years ago, with the first full-time industry managers for pharmaceuticals and food as well as water / wastewater, professional industry development at Jumo started with good, resilient results right from the start. In 2015, the company introduced the "Global Branch Management" department and appointed nine branch managers. The focus sectors today are water / waste water / environment, Food and Beverage, transportation, thermal process technology, HVAC, heat meter, distribution, safety as well Renewable energies and hydrogen technology. In these industrial sectors, Jumo expects above-average growth.

In addition, Jumo is currently changing step by step from the product manufacturer to the system supplier, which of course also offers customer-specific solutions. These are designed in the global engineering departments. Customer-specific products through brand labeling and the manufacture of OEM products support this goal, as do the numerous subsidiaries for local proximity and on-site production at the customer's site. The portfolio of SMD temperature sensors and pressure measuring cells benefits from the high degree of added value through expertise in development and production.

Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) and metal technology services are also offered. The interplay of Sensor and steeringunit offers advantages in project planning and maintenance. And so Jumo will position itself more and more as a system supplier in the future.

Own anniversary beer brewed on mini brewing equipment

Jumo anniversary beer

For its 75th company anniversary, Jumo came up with something very special: a own anniversary beer brewed on a specially developed and manufactured highly efficient brewing system in which the Jumo components relevant to the brewing industry are installed. The result is a golden-yellow, tasty pilsner with a pleasant bitter note, which we in the editorial team have already been able to convince ourselves of.

There will be a special edition of the Pils for the anniversary. The specialist for plant planning and plant construction Burkard and Gaertner (B+G) has proven to be a suitable partner to build such a facility. The regional young brewery Hunfelt Braeu is pleased to be able to brew the anniversary beer. The idea of the mini-brewery came about because Sebastian Gärtner, one of the three brewers, is also one of the full-time owners of B+G. So it made sense to combine Jumo's know-how and components with the expert knowledge of B+G and Hunfelt Braeu in a completely new system.

Jumo anniversary beer sampleThe majority of trainees completed the project in just a few months. The system was based on an intelligent 3D CAD model using the latest CAD/CAE software and manufacturing methods such as orbitalwelding technology planned. The fully automated brewing plant is constructed in a compact skid design. It is made entirely of stainless steel and offers an output of 100 liters of cold wort.

The automated CIP (Cleaning in Place) function ensures easy cleaning. The brewing system is a classic one 3-device brewing plant with lauter tun. The possible brew size is around 100 l, which, depending on the type of beer, corresponds to a malt load of around 20 kg.

In addition to the mash tun, lauter tun and wort copper, the brewing system has also received a hot water tank. With the exception of the lauter tun, all vessels are heated electrically via the inner wall of the vessel. The Jumo TYA 202 power controllers are used to control the heating elements. They take care of you efficient use of energy.

There is a pump for water and the CIP function and another frequency-controlled pump for the mash or wort. The point level detector Jumo Zelos C01 LS serves to protect both pumps from running dry. The two motors of the lauter tun raking mechanism and the mash tun stirring device are also frequency-controlled. The new Jumo Delos S02 pressure transmitter is used to measure the level of the mash tun, hot water tank and wort kettle. The Jumo Taros S46 H measures the differential pressure in the lauter tun.

More devices are the Jumo Flowtrans W02 for measuring the quantity of the main run and the subsequent runs, the Jumo Flowtrans MAG HT20 measures flow and temperature after the wort cooler and the Jumo Dtrans T1000 measures those in the respective containers. The sensors were installed in the system with the hygienic process connections G ½, the EHEDG-certified Jumo Peka and Clamp. she is over Single-pair Ethernet (SPE), IO-Link or with a 4 to 20 mA signal. Cheers and congratulations!
