Böllhoff presents the next development stage of its "Helicoil" thread technology. The “Helicoil Smart” combines the functions of “Helicoil Plus” and “Helicoil Tangfree”. The thread is colored blue and provided with a pin that does not have to be broken. The installation spindle bends it back when it is spindled and then compresses it. There is no need for tang breakage or removal. This thread insert made of rhombic profiled wire is also formed into a springy helix and, as a free-running variant, has a turn by turn freely running standard thread.
The result is a true to gauge internal thread up to the last thread turn, which can be screwed in any case. The functionality has remained essentially unchanged. Then as now, the thread insert ensures heavy-duty connections in materials with low shear strength, e.g. B. aluminum, magnesium or fiber-reinforced plastics such as carbon fiber composites, in that the forces are transmitted from flank to flank in the receiving thread.

Helicoil Smart increases quality and value - whether for armoring or thread repairs. With the special thread beginning, which has been adapted by the Helicoil Plus, you can put it on like a screw and screw it in.
The Smart built-in spindle is sufficient for screwing in. The special feature is the control of the blade position. When screwing it has a driving function and when unscrewing it becomes a bending and upsetting tool. This allows easy and quick installation in just one process step, whether manual or fully automated.
