drillSleep Pramet presents new ones drill: one Solid Carbide Drills for aluminum, one Replaceable head drill , and a Spot drill for precise centering. The program is suitable for civil engineering and mechanical engineering. The focus is on large diameter holes. The range of solid carbide heads for steel, stainless steel and cast iron is combined with a robust HSS tool body.

The previous drills for 3, 5 and 8 x diameter (D) applications were supplemented by a deep hole drill up to 12 x D and a 1,5 x D variant with improved rigidity when producing flat holes and plates.

Even after the drill head has been replaced several times, the drilling performance remains consistently high after the first field tests in the XP Center. The drill is equipped with an internal coolant supply. This improves cutting performance and chip evacuation. The exact one Fit between the drill head and the tool body maximizes rigidity and ensures maximum accuracy.

Set-up and downtimes minimized

Another advantage is the flexibility of the system, so various sizes can be adapted to one tool body Drill heads. Since the drill heads can be easily exchanged without the Toolsbody has to be removed from the spindle, set-up times and machine downtimes are minimized.

The groove and Cutting edge geometry of the new Force N series for high-speed drilling of aluminum has a 32 ° helix angle. This creates small, manageable chips and reduces unwanted exit burrs that can occur with soft materials. The long, tangled chips that are common when drilling aluminum are avoided and process reliability is increased.

The Force N drills are available in lengths of 5 and 8 x D with inner Coolant supply available and offer high stock removal rates with reduced thrust. "Our Force N improves the drilling quality and ensures significantly better aluminum processing," confirms Timo Böhl. Up until now, the solid carbide drills Force X were available for a variety of materials and Force M for stainless steel.

As a final addition, Dormer Pramet has the new one Solid Carbide Drills R125 introduced for quick and accurate drilling. The R125 has a 150 ° point geometry for self-centering and is therefore ideal for high-performance drills with point angles around 140 °. A multi-layer TiAlN coating ensures consistent performance and repeatability in all Materials, longer tool life, improved cutting edge stability and wear protection.
