A combination of radial and axial forces as found in modern day Machine Tools acts on threaded spindles, places considerable demands on the used Precision bearings. High axial rigidity and concentricity are essential here for exact tool positioning and reliable repeatability. For that offers Rodriguez an extensive range of rolling bearings, including the double row axial angular contact ball bearings DRF.

The peculiarity of these ball bearings is the increase in axial load capacity with the size of the contact angle. They have a pressure or contact angle of 60 degrees and are predestined for highly dynamic operating conditions. Installed at the end of a shaft, the DRF precision bearings guarantee precise axial guidance in linear drives.

The precision bearings are self-retaining and consist of thick-walled, dimensionally stable outer rings, Ball rings and two-part inner rings. In all series, the outer ring has through bores for easy flange-mounting of the precision bearing. Because the raceways in the inner and outer ring are offset from one another in the direction of the bearing axis, the DRF precision bearings can absorb both radial and axial loads at the same time and can therefore also be used as double bearings.

"Due to their structure, the bearings make a significant contribution to the construction and assembly of more precise, rigid and at the same time stable bearing points," says Rodriguez managing director Gunther Schulz. "With our range, all technical and economic demands on the bearing of feed spindles can now be met very well."

Precision bearings with ground side surfaces

In addition, the bearings are extremely rigid maintenance and easy to install. Because the side surfaces are ground with the highest precision, there is practically no need to rework the terminal cover. This lowers assembly costs while increasing productivity. In this way, the DRF bearings meet the requirement in machine tool construction for minimized assembly times. The integrated low-friction seal also effectively keeps dirt away from the rolling bearing and thus ensures a high level of operational reliability.

Schaeffler rolling bearingsBearings for everyone in over 60 industries

The different types of precision bearings are available with and without flange in diameters from 15 mm to 40 mm. To ensure a long service life, the bearings are prelubricated and delivered ready for installation. For applications in machine tools outside the main axis, a standard accuracy is sufficient. In this case, there is an even cheaper roller bearing variant with the NP version.
