LardThe integrated IO-Link functionality in the compact ejectors SCPi / SMPi from Schmalz is the prerequisite for standardized and therefore cost-effective networking of system components and for preventive system monitoring. In addition, up to 65% compressed air can be saved with these vacuum generators. The power blow-off function ensures more process speed, with which even sensitive workpieces can be removed without damage.

More performance, shorter cycle times, higher reliability, maximum process reliability - these are the trends in production and intralogistics automation. Additional technical requirements include minimizing energy consumption, reducing installation, service and maintenance costs, as well as complete process monitoring to prevent faults and production downtime. The vacuum technology specialist Schmalz meets all these requirements with vacuum generators from the compact ejector series SCPi / SMPi. By combining forward-looking features, these compact ejectors redefine the state of the art and become an investment for the user with real added value.Schmalz1

Functional details for more efficiency

Thus, the integrated air-saving function ensures that the suction function switches off when a reliably defined vacuum value is reached - here the user can save up to 65% of compressed air compared to a system without air-saving function. Unnecessary compressed air consumption is also prevented by the integrated impulse valve, which ensures that the last valid system state is maintained in the event of machine downtime or power failure. Maximum power is provided by the Power Blow Off function, which removes even delicate workpieces without damage. In addition, the programming of the external control signal "Blow off workpiece" will be superfluous due to the adjustable automatic blow-off pulse.

Integrated IO-Link functionality

The SCPi / SMPi compact ejector series sets new technological standards with integrated IO-Link functionality. It is the prerequisite for standardized and thus cost-effective networking of the system components and for preventive system monitoring. IO-Link enables the remote parameterization of sensors and actuators and allows seamless communication down to the lowest field level. Manual parameterization on site is therefore obsolete since all configuration data can be fed into the system via the device. What's more, process parameters can be saved and, in the case of a device replacement, simply transferred to the new device.

They can also be easily and quickly changed during a production cycle. The user benefits from low installation costs as well as short set-up and changeover times. The user can also safely ignore the factor of retooling costs: Thanks to the wiring topology via the standard M-12 connector, the transmission of the output signals of conventional sensors works, thus ensuring compatibility with existing older equipment.

Quantifiable user benefits are also provided by the integrated system monitoring function, with which errors and creeping changes can be detected early on and easily located. The user has access to the system status at all times, can plan maintenance measures and reduce costly machine downtime pages. The benefits of IO-Link technology over current I / O technology are obvious: Users benefit from lower cabling / hardware costs, better link monitoring, shorter makeready times, and reduced machine downtime.Schmalz2

Two series, three power levels

The compact ejectors SCPi (without power-off function) and SMPi (with power-off function) are available in three power levels with the nozzle sizes 1,5 mm, 2,0 mm and 2,5 mm. With the suction valve functions, the user has the choice between the variants NO (normally open), NC (normally closed) and IMP (bistable via impulse). For system monitoring, Schmalz offers versions VD (digital vacuum switch) and RD (integrated air-saving function with digital vacuum switch). Overall, 36 makes demand-oriented vacuum generation available to the user.

High vacuum, ultra high vacuum and extremely high vacuum

The integrated strainer with self-cleaning effect eliminates the need to change filters - time-consuming maintenance is a thing of the past. Constructive details such as compact design, low weight, standardized connections and "quick-change" adapters facilitate installation in gripper systems, prevent system dynamics from being impaired and considerably reduce assembly times. Another important detail is the consistently operation-oriented operation via a display with 3 x 7 segment, four LEDs, four setting buttons and a vacuum status display: The vacuum parameters can be quickly entered and read, the system status is clearly displayed and is quickly detected, the valve states and signals when reaching thresholds are clearly displayed.
