Double flow soft start valve saves 80% energy

SMC presents the improved Soft start valve AV-A series for the Pneumatics. The valves are very compact and offer a flow rate up to 2,2 times higher. They require 80% less energy than the previous models. The range of possible uses of the revised soft start valves increases significantly with the flow rate of up to 13.400 l / min. 

They are ideal for slow pressure build-up e.g. B. during commissioning. This also applies to the fast one Bleeding pneumatic systems like turning off.

The duration of the pressure build-up can be adjusted with a needle valve to adjust. The increased volume shortens the filling time by 50%. The integration of the silencer into the housing saves 37 to 92 mm of installation space, depending on the size. The power consumption of the soft start valves is extremely cautious. Only 0,35 W is compared to the 1,8 W of the predecessor. This significant improvement is largely due to a new pilot valve and an improved internal design.

The current AV-A series comprises a total of four model series in sizes 20, 30, 40 and 50 with connection sizes 1/4 ", 3/8" and 1/2 "as well as 3/4" and 1 "in size 50 . Of the Flow varies with a max. Flow rate of 13.400 l / min in the largest version. The information applies to an inlet pressure of 0,6 MPa (relative pressure) and a pressure drop of 0,1 MPa. The improvements in the inner workings of the soft start valves help with particularly slow ventilation. The improved needle valves can be adjusted much more sensitively.

Equipment of the soft start valves with integrated Silencer or pressure gauge is optionally possible. Three pilot valve variants to choose from: DIN terminal with or without plug and a version with a molded cable. There is also a tactile manual override with the order option. This implements the use for the safety function "Safe energy-free switching" according to ISO 13849.

Combination with soft start valve with maintenance unit 

The soft start valves AV-A were developed for use in Compressed air lines designed. Media and ambient temperatures should be between 0 ° and 50 ° C. SMC recommends 0,2 to 1,0 MPa as the operating pressure. Due to their properties, the soft start valves of the AV-A series are suitable for use in compressed air lines of every application in all industries. Especially in combination with complete maintenance units, SMC sees an important area of ​​application for soft start valves. The maintenance units can be ordered from SMC ready for installation.
