The single-pair Ethernet (SPE) technology offers completely new opportunities to reliably and quickly transfer the immense data streams even in the smallest area of the machine. For the movement in the energy chain poses Igus the first SPE "Chainflex "line in front. Using only one wire pair reduces the outside diameter by 25%.

The Chainflex CFBUS.PUR.042 single-pair Ethernet cable was specially developed for moving, long-lasting use in the energy chain. Because the single-pair Ethernet line uses only one pair of wires instead of the usual four, this reduces the data rate to transfer rates from 10 MBit / s to 1 GBit / s. However, higher speed is not necessary in many applications. Instead, reducing the wire count of the CFBUS.PUR.042 allows for a smaller 25% outer diameter. It is now at the level of an initiator line.

The new cable is designed precisely for the T1 connector interface, which was newly developed specifically for SPE. As a result, the durable screen is handed over reliably and thus high electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is present. The combination of cable and plug is extremely robust: Igus uses a highly abrasion-resistant, notched PUR sheath and the connector robust metal latches with PCB socket.

Reducing the size of the cable and connector creates additional space even in the smallest e-chain series. The SPE technology is thus an alternative to classic serial bus systems in the automotive industry, railway technology or industrial robots. The user does not have to do without quality. The oil-resistant and flame-retardant CFBUS.PUR.042 has been extensively tested in the 3800 m² Igus test laboratory. As with all of its 1300 line coverage, the user is guaranteed a guaranteed 10 million double strokes and 36 months even when calculating the SPE line.

  • Hannover Messe Energy, leading safely and inexpensively on long paths was the goal when developing the Autoglide 5 energy chain from Igus. The new energy chain was specially designed for horizontal applications in intralogistics and on crane systems. The energy supply lies on a tensioned rope with the help of a special underside construction. Compared to energy supply chains in a channel system, the Autoglide 5 from Igus can save 88% in assembly time.
  • The goal of predictive maintenance is not only pursued by Igus with its intelligent smart plastics products for monitoring plain bearings, cables and energy chains. Manufacturers of machines and systems are also increasingly offering solutions with their own condition monitoring tools. Automation specialist Güdel also uses Ig.EC and EC.W sensors for its linear robots when it comes to predictive maintenance.
  • Logimat Hall 4, Stand D61 Technical Article Users of Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) are finally getting investment security. As Harting announced yesterday, the IEC standards committee SC 48B for connection technology published the IEC 63171-6 standard. The standard interface for industrial SPE applications was thus manifested. The SPE Industrial Partner Network is behind the new standard, which is now freely available.
  • Wire Hall 9, Stand F55 Paul Leibinger presents a labeling system for printing on cables and wires in record time. Wires, pipes and hoses can also be labeled at up to 1000 m / min or 60 km / h. The JET Rapid Wire Inkjet Printer no longer slows down the production of extrusion products through the labeling. Thanks to the manufacturer's Sealtronic nozzle closure technology, it ensures a measurable increase in productivity.
  • Conta-Clip has expanded its KES range with the screwless version KES-E for quick and easy installation. The plates for cable entry enable the electrician and electronics technician to quickly and safely insert unassembled electrical cables or hoses into the control cabinet and machine housing. Elaborate cable glands are a thing of the past. The cable assembly of the KES-E is done using the all-round profile seal without the use of tools.
  • The energy chains of the "Easytrax", "Qquicktrax" and "Uniflex Advanced" series are designed so that they can be opened quickly. This makes line assignment and exchange particularly easy, and the user saves time and money. The latest measurements prove: With the opening tool available for the energy chain, users of the Uniflex Advanced 1455 can open one meter of energy in just three seconds.
  • Franconian Industrial Pipes presents the new "Fiplock" One Fittings with a rotatable metal thread. They make it easy to assemble pre-assembled cable harnesses without having to turn them during installation.
  • FMB-Süd Stand E16 The Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) technology offers completely new opportunities to transfer the immense data streams reliably and quickly even in the smallest area of the machine. Igus introduces the first SPE “Chainflex” cable for movement in the energy chain. The use of only one pair of wires reduces the outside diameter by 25%.
  • Where signal and power cables are led through a housing wall, there is a gap in the shield through which electromagnetic waves “slip through”. High-quality EMC cable glands are required to securely close this shield gap. With the "Blueglobe TRI" series, Pflitsch has introduced a cable gland that optimally shields the cable shield when the cable enters the control cabinet.
