Circuit breaker significantly reduces power consumption and maintenance  

Mitsubishi Electric Relay18.01.2022:  The Mitsubishi Electric Corporation in Tokyo was awarded the R&D 100 Awards 2021 for her open circuit breaker World Super AE V Series C-Class awarded. The switch protects low-voltage switchgear of factories and buildings. 

The industry's first electromagnetic operating mechanism of the World Super AE V Series C Class Air Circuit Breakers reduces maintenance costs and energy consumption. A new High performance electromagnet uses conical and magnetic locking structures in its moving iron core. Conical means that a movable and fixed iron core face each other, tending to improve the attraction force. With magnetic locking, the moving core is held in position until the current in the coil has increased sufficiently. This improves overall strength. This industry first electromagnetic operating mechanism among air circuit breakers requires only the same amount of power as a motorized control. The use of electromagnetism instead of a spring for the operating mechanism reduces the number of components 46% and the maintenance effort 30% compared to conventional actuation mechanisms using a motor and spring. The "Meprotect" digital protection system, available for the first time on the European market, is flexible and modular. At the second new component of the energy system Mesoftstart is a series of digital soft starters that ensure gentle motor startup, especially in harsh environmental conditions. They thus contribute to electrical and mechanical system protection.
