Programmable logic controls, CNC controls, TNC controls or safety controls with digital twin and control technology

control engineering | Innovations for modern machines and systems

The Control Technology and control engineering are sub-areas of Automation services. Modern production plants are controlled by Industry 4.0-compatible controllers such as programmable logic controllers (SPS) Or CNC CNC and TNC Controls among others from Mitsubishi Electric, Siemens, Heidenhain or Rockwell Automation.

Today's control technology is characterized by technologies such as digital twin or network capability, OPC UA connection and control technology. She is influenced by the digital transformation in the smart factory. We report on innovations for control technology in the field of automation technology for industrial machines and systems.

Brand new control technology

Our product reports, specialist articles and user reports include innovative SPS, CNC controls, TNC controls or safety controls. In the first block we have different ones for you industry-specific applications compiled for Control & Co. In the second block you will find control technology for mechanical and plant engineering in the Industry 4.0 factory.

Control technology for special industries

  • The Technical University of Munich (TUM) has taken on the processing of new materials using existing production methods in bending technology. The IoT CNC control module DAU from Mitsubishi Electric plays an important role in the practical example of a free-form bending machine from J. Neu GmbH Maschinenbau & Handel.
  • According to the ZVEI, almost every fifth German already uses networked functions within their own four walls, including those for controlling their heating system. The new generation of the individual room control NEA Smart 2.0 for surface heating and cooling from Rehau is well suited for this. The entire control technology can now also communicate with other KNX-capable building technology components and there will be a further development from July 2022.
  • Turck is expanding its TX700 Human Machine Interface (man-machine interface), or HMI or Programmable Logic Controller for short, or PLC device series for short. There are two versions of the TX700FB (Food & Beverage) for systems in the food industry. There are also two versions with particularly bright displays for better sunlight readability TX700HB, (High Brightness).
  • Flexibility is becoming an increasingly important property in the food industry. At the same time, companies prefer security systems that offer operational efficiencies and cost advantages in addition to the necessary security function. The system for processing cold cuts from Weber Maschinenbau shows how these requirements can be implemented. They were secured with a modular safety control from Schmersal. The service package included commissioning and validation by the service provider Tec.nicum.
  • Viscotec has presented the new micro-dosing control "Eco-Control EC200 2.0", which will be available on the market as early as March. In combination with the "Eco-PEN" and "Eco-DUO" dispensers, it ensures maximum precision and reliability in the dosing process.
  • Nemos GmbH has developed a wave power plant that delivers around 30% higher levels of efficiency compared to competitive products. Following the success of the pilot plant in Denmark, the first large-scale plant is scheduled to go into operation in 2017. The combination of the connection to existing offshore wind turbines, the use of the existing infrastructure and the use of Siemens technology for drive and control leads to an effective and efficient operation of the power plant.
