Christian Sallach, Chief Marketing Officer, WAGO Kontakttechnik GmbH & Co. KG, MindenThe digital transformation is an important success factor for us. Here we set a clear strategic focus that encompasses all areas of the company and consistently aligns with the needs of our customers. For this purpose, we have founded the management division 'Digital Transformation Office', in which all digital topics of our company are to be strategically bundled and promoted.
We support our customers with new products and services as pioneering partners. At this year's SPS IPC Drives we present under our theme, "This is the digital future - on the way to smart factory solutions in the areas of sensor / actuator integration, cloud connectivity, cyber security, versatile production processes, horizontal networking and smart data. The digitalization trend poses several challenges for manufacturing companies that they need to solve in the medium term. Wago has studied these requirements in depth and shows concrete solutions that are based on technologies that are available today and that offer users measurable added value.
For example, thanks to a simple software update, the PFC controllers become IoT controllers that send data from the field level directly to the cloud. There, these data can then be aggregated and used for analyzes. Our cloud data control, which represents the link between the elements of the real and the digital world, can be used here. With their help, the controllers and their applications and data can be monitored and managed - regardless of location.
We want to give visitors in Nuremberg optimal digital access to these topics. That's why the presentation focuses on usability, interactivity and digital worlds of experience. In addition to a large LED wall and augmented reality functions, the stand on touchscreens offers numerous interactive user interfaces that show visitors various first steps on the way to the digital factory.
