The IEC 61131-3 freely programmable, multitasking controller with an up to 450 MHz clocked ARM9 CPU can directly drive up to 16 I / O modules of the series and supports the multi-vendor development environment "Codesys V3". As a result, the product can take over both autonomous control functions as well as relieve the higher-level control technology by outsourced functions or supplement it with additional functions.
The fieldbus controller with integrated 2-Port Ethernet switch transmits data with 10 or 100 Mbit / s and provides an internal 512 kB of large program memory as well as 256 kB data memory. As transmission protocols, both Modbus / TCP and EtherNet / IP are supported. During parameter setting, the Ethernet controller can be configured optionally via the fieldbus or the front-side interface.
The interfaces of the HE 5684 are complemented by two USB 2.0 host interfaces as well as a slot for a microSD (HC) card, which can be used as memory extension, program memory or recipe memory. This makes it easy to replace the controller without reprogramming and configuration, or make a quick process change by changing the memory card.
