The universal positioning controller PS 90 and the Owisoft version 2.8 from Owis are now working together: the connection setup and the COM port search are optimized. The improved communication between the software and the controller also becomes clear when querying the axis parameters. New software tools allow the integration of the software in development environments such as Labview or Matlab.
The optimized power dissipation of the PS 90 ensures less heating during operation. In addition, integrated components ensure improved overcurrent protection. The risk of damage due to short circuit is thus almost impossible.
In addition, the PS 90 in the application is time-saving and user-friendly as never before. The Owisid is read out directly with the control and facilitates the commissioning and configuration of the individual positioning units. As a result, relevant values such as current level or spindle pitch are transferred from a database to the controller, but can still be entered manually as before.
The synchronous start and stop function of multiple positioning units is more convenient with new commands. In addition, new functionalities are available in the path control. Up to three PLC or TTL outputs can be set or deleted at the same time.
The further development is also noticeable in the modern final stage design. The current limits for DC and BLDC motors can now be set via software commands. For stepper motors, the current is controlled by a freely adjustable PID controller and allows the fine adjustment of the power amplifier exactly according to the requirements. The table can thus be operated in a slow quiet run or very dynamic.
