With the new programmable Automation Control (PAC) Allen-Bradley "Armor Guard Logix" provides Rockwell Automation machinery and equipment manufacturers with a high-performance, multi-discipline control system that can be mounted directly on the machine. This simplifies the architecture of the machine and saves space in the control cabinet.
The Armor Guard Logix controller is part of the vendor's growing portfolio of on-machine solutions that bring industrial controllers and hardware closer to the application or machine, reducing the number of components in the cabinet. This shortens wiring time while increasing uptime because maintenance and repair can be done faster thanks to pre-configured connector systems and simplified circuit diagrams.
Armor Guard Logix PAC is IP67 compliant, equivalent to SIL 3, PL (e), CAT 4, and has 4 MB application code space and two highly functional, DLR (Device Level Ring) enabled Ethernet / IP ports.
The Armor Guard Logix controller provides access to the USB port, SD card and power button. It also provides the ability to loop through the supply voltage to power other on-machine products. This feature allows the supply voltage to be routed from one device or module to another, eliminating the need for separate power supplies per device and simplifying the system architecture. The programming of the control takes place in the development and design environment Rockwell Software Studio 5000.
