MisubishiMitsubishi Electric has added the "MELSEC L" series with two new Simple Motion Module. The 4 and 16-axis motion modules complement the existing motion control. There are various control functions, such as engine speed and torque control, synchronization and cams available that were previously possible only with "real" motion control systems.

The motion modules are programmed with the software package "GX Works2" according to IEC 61131 and with standardized "PLC open" function blocks.

The standard integrated interface for external encoder signals as well as fast counter inputs for e.g. print mark sensors enable use in classic series machines as well as in packaging and filling systems or palletizing systems without the installation of additional optional modules. A function for the automatic calculation of the cam disc data for a rotating knife application - only by specifying the product length and synchronization distance - is also implemented.

With the positioning functions, such as linear interpolation (up to four axes), circular interpolation (up to two axes) and a path control, various applications such as the XY table or sealing can be easily implemented. Proven and tested programs for the Melsec Q module QD75MH can easily be used on the LD77MH module.

The Melsec L series also includes many other modules, such as communication and network modules as well as digital and analog I / O modules. All CPUs have 24 I / O as standard and can perform many special functions.
