"Unigate CL"Gateways from Deutschmann Automation are now also available in small quantities as an OEM product and in customer-specific colors. Via their serial interface, they connect automation components and other devices with all common fieldbuses and Industrial Ethernet systems. The hat rail mounting gateways take on the task of protocol converters that implement the different interfaces.
Device manufacturers can save their own development of corresponding fieldbus- or Ethernet-based interfaces by using the gateways: Unigate CL gateways are for Profibus, MPI, DeviceNET, CANopen, LonWorks, Modbus TCP, Profinet, Powerlink, EtherCAT, Ethernet / IP, Ethernet TCP / IP and also available for RS-based protocols such as Modbus RTU and Modbus ASCII. The devices have RS232, RS485 and RS422 interfaces and also support the SSI protocol. The gateways use the full transfer rate of the respective bus and support all speeds. Different diagnostic LEDs indicate the device status both on the bus side and on the serial side. Changes to the terminal firmware are not necessary with Unigate CL: The "Wingate" configuration tool makes it easy to adapt the gateways of the application or the protocol. In addition, the performance can be significantly increased by creating a script with the free Protocol Developer. The script can also be used to simulate complex protocols, to buffer data and to process practically any number of functions without requiring special knowledge of programming or the special features of fieldbuses and Ethernet systems. Because of the consistency of the Unigate CL series, once created configurations and scripts can be used with virtually no changes on other fieldbus and Ethernet-based variants of the CL series. All variants are compliant with the standard, have the same dimensions of 23 x 100 x 115 mm and have the same structure on the serial side. In addition, the gateways have as standard a bus-side electrical isolation; Galvanic isolation on the serial side is optional.
