Beckhoff shows its PC and Ether CAT-based control solutions for plastics machinery. As a novelty, there is a "turnkey" solution for injection molding machines to see. Based on the PC Control technology, the control architecture supports servo-electric, hybrid and hydraulic drive concepts. The "Twin CAT Injection Molding PLC Framework" is the basis of the turnkey solution for injection molding machines.Field-tested technology modules, such as injection and post-pressure control, offer optimum solutions for the injection molding process. The open, PC-based architecture of the controller allows the machine builder to use either his own know-how or ready-made technology modules of the manufacturer.
Twin CAT, the software PLC for PC-based control technology, uses the power of modern PC architecture to enhance product quality and machine efficiency. For the operation of the machine, a visualization based on Windows CE or XP is available, which forms a complete solution for the injection molding machine with the Injection Molding PLC Framework. This shortens development time without limiting the possibility of own technology developments. Matching the software solution, there is an 12 inch panel PC especially for injection molding applications. With a key arrangement optimized for the injection molding process, standard machines with different options can be optimally operated.
Also new is the compact and cost-effective control solution for blow molding machines based on Intel-Atom processors. It consists of an 6,5 inch panel PC and a technology software for blow molding machines including visualization. PC-Control with high-quality I / O components and Ether CAT is now also available for cost-sensitive applications.
The use of the EtherCAT fast real-time Ethernet fieldbus system in plastic machinery increases machine efficiency and improves the quality of the end product. For detecting temperatures directly on the injection cylinder or tool, the fieldbus modules of the FM series are now also available for Ether CAT. To increase the energy efficiency of injection molding and blow molding increasingly servo-electric drives are used instead of hydraulic valves. For the first time, Beckhoff will be showing the entire product spectrum of its servo drive series AX5100 to 170 A at a plastics trade fair.
