Compact and versatile are the new absolute ones encoder by Heidenhain with SSI interface and only 35 mm outer diameter circumference. The encoders ECN 1013 and EQN 1025 (right) or ROC 1013 and ROQ 1025 (left) complete the product range of compact absolute encoders. For easy electrical connection, they allow supply voltages in an extended range from 4,75 to 30 V.
This means that manufacturers of machines, systems and devices can choose from a complete range of encoders for cramped installation conditions with all standard interfaces. Areas of application include antenna technology, driverless transport systems, logistics applications, mechanical engineering, medical technology and packaging machines.
The encoders offer a total resolution of 25 bits (13 bit singleturn, 12 bit multiturn). In addition to the serial position value outputs, the SSI encoders also supply 1 VSS signals, which can be highly interpolated. Two further inputs make it possible to electronically program the direction of rotation and to set the zero position of the absolute position value. The system accuracy of the encoders is ± 60 arcsec.
The mechanical attachment of the 6 mm hollow shaft devices ECN or EQN takes place by means of a mounted stator coupling. This connection is particularly stiff and suitable for highly dynamic applications. The synchro flange types ROC and ROQ have a solid shaft with a diameter of 4 mm and are connected on the shaft side to the drive via a coupling. This makes the absolute encoders mechanically compatible with the incremental encoders of the compact class. Their working temperature range from -30 ° to 100 ° C and IP64 degree of protection make them suitable for use not only in cramped conditions but also in difficult environmental conditions.
