The 6 Axis Force Moment Sensor "FTNet" from Schunk is a universal talent: With its high-speed data output, four possible communication protocols, remote monitoring via LAN and configuration via web interface, it is currently the most versatile force / torque sensor for industrial automation. The total 14 sizes cover load ranges between 12 and 40.000 N.
FTNet has Ethernet, Ethernet / IP, DeviceNet, and a CAN bus interface, providing unparalleled interface compatibility for a variety of applications. It can be used for product testing, robotic assembly or machining tasks such as grinding and polishing, as well as robotic surgery, rehabilitation, neurology and many other areas. It even makes it possible to automate difficult assembly, machining and finishing tasks that previously could only be performed manually or with complex special machines.
The sensor measures both force and torque in all six degrees of freedom. The signal is output via high-speed outputs via Ethernet with up to 7000 Hz or CAN. With FTNet also highly dynamic control concepts can be realized. For remote monitoring, the sensor can simply be connected to the LAN. The system settings can be configured, displayed and set via a web interface. A demo software also provides a graphical view of the six-axis measurements in real time. To ensure reliable operation, the FTNet features cable break detection, overload protection and temperature compensation. The system consists of the sensor, shielded robotic Devicenet cable and a NetBox with Ethernet and DeviceNet / CAN bus interface.
