The new dual-range torque sensor from the compact Precision torque range 8661 von Burster is used to record static and rotating torques in test laboratory, production and quality assurance. With only one sensor, large load ranges can now be calculated using different range spreads for the measuring ranges 0 ... 5 Nm to 0 ... 200 Nm with a linearity deviation from 0,05% v. E. be recorded. Thanks to the optional USB interface and the convenient "Digivision" PC software, the user can implement his measuring task both stationary and mobile.
Depending on the version and software version, torque, speed and angle measurement values as well as a mechanical performance calculation for up to 32 measuring channels are visualized, logged and evaluated. The new, powerful formula editor allows mathematical operands to calculate, for example, efficiency, moving averages.
The Plug + Measure software concept with auto-scaling feature allows the user a very short start-up phase. The results calculated using the mathematical formula editor can be displayed numerically or graphically and evaluated. The connection to Labview or the integration into own programs can be realized easily with the free driver package. The options rotational angle (up to 0,09 °) and speed measurement allow not only the torque measurement, but also the acquisition of further process-relevant measured variables. The LED operating status display, which is also integrated in the dual-range version, provides not only a large number of status messages, but also information about the currently active measuring range.
The new sensor in dual-range design can fully exploit its strengths, above all in industrial automation, in engine test benches as well as in medical and electrical engineering. The measurement of, for example, continuous load, starting or breakaway torques is just as possible as the brief detection of load peaks. Changeover times or the realignment of the test bench adaptation are a thing of the past.
