The inductive safety sensor GG851S IFM Electronic offers a new safety function. With her, a safe state is achieved when the damping element is located, for example, in the crane monitoring within the secure switch-off. If, on the other hand, metal is in the release zone, then the outputs are switched on.
The new mode of operation can be illustrated using the example of crane runway monitoring: A safety sensor monitors the position of the crane on the rail. So far, the sensor has been damped over the entire travel path, but was only damped at the stop positions. The new safety sensor allows a damping element to be installed only at the beginning and end of the crane runway.
The GG851S has two OSSD outputs for connection to a safety switching device or PLC. Various operating states are diagnosed using LEDs. A switching flag made of metal is sufficient as a damping element; a magnetic or coded actuator is not required. The integration into the machine is done by flush mounting. The safety sensor is certified according to ISO 13849-1 PL d, IEC 61508 SIL 2 and IEC 62061 SIL cl2.
