The Covidis range of optical sensors equipped with a high-speed line scan camera are high-end products with a measurement error of less than 0,05%. They are particularly suitable for applications with high accuracy requirements and can be used at speeds of up to 50 m / s. The heart of the Optipact series is an area camera. It was designed for applications with lower speeds (up to 4 m / s) and accuracy requirements of> 1%. It includes cost-effective non-contact measuring devices that allow the capture of two-dimensional movements. Optipact sensors are available in several variants, which can be used depending on the resolution for the detection of structured or very fine materials.
Both sensor types work with light in the visible range: the material to be measured is illuminated and imaged by a lens on a camera. A downstream transmitter ensures the output of the correct length signal. Due to the optical measuring principle, there are no measurement errors due to slippage or deposits, and the surface of the material being examined is not damaged by pressure. The sensors are extremely compact and can therefore be easily used even in locations that offer little installation space or are difficult to access. A graphical user interface allows easy setup or adaptation to different measurement conditions. The use of long-life LED lighting, which is not subject to any laser protection class, eliminates the need for additional protective measures. The sensors provide reliable, slip-free, material-saving and effective quality control for a variety of processes.
