MTS has a new generation of "Temposonics E "series position sensors developed. It enables the cost-effective and effective use of magnetostrictive sensors in standard applications with uncomplicated measurement tasks. As an economical alternative to wear-prone displacement measuring systems, the sensors work contactlessly and reliably over many years. The E Series sensors are available in standard preferred lengths from 50 to 2500 mm with either analog or start / stop interface. The secure cabling is uniform over M12 connector, which allow the use of inexpensive cable connectors. To save further costs and space, the analogue sensors can now detect two positions with just one sensor and two magnets. The robust construction of the E series guarantees a high level of operational reliability with IP67 protection, 100 g shock resistance and 10 g vibration resistance. The hermetically sealed housing of the EH sensor with the appropriate plug connection even offers IP69K protection. Precise positioning is ensured by the good resolution and repeatability of 0,01 mm and only 0,03% FS linearity deviation.
Depending on the application, four different types of construction meet every requirement, for example in the plastics industry, wood processing or handling. The rod sensor EH with robust stainless steel housing is extremely compact with an 7 mm or 10 mm hydraulic protection tube. This makes it suitable for installation in small cylinders. In the profile version EP, the magnet can also move over the electronics head. The sensor ER with push rod has an improved seal and can be installed in lengths of up to 1500 mm in any orientation. For confined spaces, MTS has developed a completely new sensor model. The ultra-slim profile sensor EL with a height of only 15 mm along the measuring section is the slim solution when it gets narrow.
"The Temposonics E-Series incorporates the latest developments in magnetostatic technology. The sensors now have even more compact housing shapes, a higher degree of protection and a precision matched to standard applications, "comments Hanserdmann von Biedersee, Technical Marketing Manager for Industrial Sensors at MTS in Lüdenscheid.
