Communication with the higher-level control system takes place via the radio network Swave.NET. Access points that work in a similar way to routers send the radio signals directly to an IP address. The user can do without the usual application server: the structure of the network remains slim and several hundred radio switching devices of different types, such as position switches, foot switches, command devices, magnetic sensors, etc., can be integrated into such a network. For the configuration and commissioning only a minimum of effort is required because the network largely self-configures.
E-Kanban shelvesA typical application of this wireless network is e-Kanban shelving for the supply of assembly workplaces: Electromechanical radio position switches or non-contact wireless light switches report as soon as a container is removed from the kanban shelf and pass the information to the kanban control continue. As the communication is wireless, the kanban shelves are mobile without restrictions and can be placed freely in the room, as it makes most sense ergonomically.
Swave-NET is a powerful technology for implementing application-specific sensor network solutions. Even under unfavorable conditions of "shopfloor" operation, a very high transmission reliability of the signals in the network is ensured.
Bidirectional data communicationData communication in a Swave-NET-based sensor network is bidirectional between transmitter and access point. In this case, the same communication paths are preferably used, as they arise through the synchronization. For reliable data transmission of data packets, a backup mechanism is available. This mechanism signals a sending sensor a successful reception. In the absence of signaling, this package will be resent. This process repeats itself up to a configurable threshold. Thereafter, a new synchronization of the transmission path takes place. In this way, the quality of the network is constantly monitored and dynamically adapted if necessary.
Point-to-point communicationIn addition to the wireless network and its components, the company also develops and manufactures a wide range of wireless switching devices for wireless point-to-point communication with the associated evaluation unit. These switching devices are z. B. in poorly accessible areas or on rotating or generally movable components of automated conveying and handling systems. Here they make it possible to dispense with expensive energy and signal feeds, for example with slip rings or cable drag chains. This permanently saves service costs and maintenance costs.
