The Ethernet Powerlink Standardization Group (EPSG) presents Open Powerlink 2.3: The new version of the open-source stack improves the performance of masters and slaves operating on operating systems. By supporting co-processor solutions, deterministic networks can now be set up on non-real-time operating systems, such as Windows.
Co-processor support is particularly important for image processing algorithms used in PC-based vision systems. With the new Powerlink stack, such systems can now be more easily deterministically integrated into Powerlink networks. The high asynchronous bandwidth is not affected by this.
In addition to modern sensor systems, integrated security concepts are crucial for the cooperation between man and machine in a common workspace. Another highlight at the EPSG stand is therefore the latest security solutions based on the bus-independent OpenSafety standard.
