The Ethernet Powerlink Standardization Group (EPSG) presents a new technology development: Previously, many wires had to be threaded through support arm systems when control panels were equipped with several hardwired switches and buttons. The new Open Safety operator panels from Bernecker + Rainer (B + R) now enable secure data exchange via the bus system. The integrated open safety interface eliminates the need for hard wiring of emergency stop, operating mode and start buttons.
The new operator panels only require a bus and a power connection. As a result, they can be placed exactly where they are needed, no need to worry about thick cable strands. In addition, commissioning and service are much easier, which saves costs. The emergency stop works just as reliably as with hardwired variants.
The operator panels are manufactured on customer request and can be tailored to any application. In addition to different display diagonals and aspect ratios, various touch technologies are also available. Also configurable are the number and arrangement of buttons, switches and emergency stop button. The operator panels are available with IP65 enclosures.
