The Internet of Things (IoT) service platform from Welotec equips components and systems in automation processes with a virtual representation for industry 4.0 and IoT applications. The new software called "Sara Connect" not only supports data exchange between completely different assemblies, but also facilitates interface management, optimizes production and establishes new business models for maintenance and service.

Sara Connect opens up new possibilities for the visualization of key figures and the remote maintenance of plants and systems. It meets the growing demands of enterprises for extremely secure, third-party-protected, yet easy-to-manage higher-level server platforms.

The software can be operated as an in-house server or in an external data center. It is particularly suitable for use in process automation and MCR technology. The application is also recommended wherever networked and remotely controllable devices as well as automated processes contribute to an increase in process quality and better energy utilization, such as in the areas of smart grid, smart city, smart home, smart building, factory automation and machine data acquisition, evaluation and visualization.

Sara Connect points the way forward in the communication of the Internet of Things with cooperative, distributed network and control structures. Like a broker, data from all the sensors, actuators, controllers, drives and other networkable subsystems involved in the automation process are collected in a higher-level manner, stored and exchanged in a uniform format. With the aid of a standard interface, the networked components can communicate with one another in real time, while the corresponding APIs (Application Programming Interface) support access via smartphone, data glasses or enterprise IT solutions.
