A focus of the Ethernet Powerlink Standardization Group (EPSG)-Messe appearance is on the open safety protocol Open Safety. In order to be able to easily and cost-effectively integrate this into products, Hilscher has developed a new "Net Safety" module with Open Safety on Powerlink. If required, Mesco Engineering provides support for custom design-in of the module. With the associated evaluation board, the development time of an open safety integration is significantly shortened.

Hardware and software are already perfectly matched - a significant part of the development is eliminated. A pre-certification by TÜV is planned, which accelerates the certification process and minimizes costs. In addition, essential design elements of the hardware and software can be adopted for own projects.

The Net Safety module is very well suited as a design-in solution, for example for panels, frequency / servo inverters, light grids and simplifies the integration of safe signals in one device. The safety-related signals are transmitted directly via the Open Safety network. Complex wiring is no longer necessary with this solution. On the evaluation board sit a Net Safety module with Net X-52 network controller as well as two F-CPU, which combine safe and functional communication on one board. The board has a safe output and 3 safe inputs according to SIL3.
