The compact Industrial router REX 100 Helmholz systems are not even palm-sized and can be snapped onto any standard DIN rail in the control cabinet. Nevertheless, they offer all the functions expected of a modern remote maintenance solution. Independent of the manufacturer, Ethernet routers such as PLC controllers can be reached with the router. Currently there are REX-100 variants for the transmission standards 3G (GSM) or WAN (DSL) on the connection side. The Ethernet version of the router is equipped with an 3 port switch, the mobile version with an 4 port switch.
The REX 100 series is consistently designed for operation in conjunction with the VPN portal "My REX24": Complete programming and remote maintenance are carried out exclusively via the portal. The data transfer takes place via encrypted VPN tunnels based on the secure Open VPN protocol. Furthermore, the routers have digital inputs: one serves as a trigger for establishing a connection to the portal server. Another input can be assigned an alarm function. This allows appropriately configured REX-100 routers to send alarm SMS and e-mails. The data packets are forwarded directly to the automation network.
New is a so-called "SH SMS Wake-up". With this triggering function, it is no longer necessary to send an SMS or press the "Dial Out" button to initiate the connection to My REX24 with mobile radio routers. Instead, the My REX24 portal automatically transfers the SMS to the stored mobile phone number via SH SMS. This will connect the previously selected REX router to the My REX24 portal. This reduces the online time of the routers and thus the transmission costs. The router configuration is also carried out exclusively in the My REX24 portal. Currently there are the routers in two variants for WAN and mobile. The model series is being continuously expanded.
