Red Lion Controls announced today that it's "Graphite "HMI Series will expand to two new plug-in communication modules. Designed for use with Graphite HMIs that already support industry-leading 300 protocols, the CAN and J1939 modules deliver the communications and connectivity customers need to add powerful HMI capabilities to their systems.
With the new communication and connectivity modules, the Graphite can be leveraged to integrate CAN and J1939 protocols into one solution. The CAN and J1939 protocols, originally designed for automotive in-car networking, are also used for specialist construction vehicles, trains and rail vehicles, marine equipment, engine control units, and building automation applications such as elevator control, built-in door controls, and heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment. Combined with Graphite HMI operator panels, these modules eliminate the need for external communication gateways and save time and money by simplifying programming and reducing installation costs.
The Graphite Series is the industry's first robust HMI that allows customers to easily connect, monitor and control processes in a variety of industries, according to the manufacturer. The CAN and J1939 modules now provide a wider range of integrated communication solutions.
