Eks Engel presents the new managed Industrial Ethernet switch "e-light 2MA". The switch with six twisted pair and two optical ports supports data rates of up to 100 Mbit / s. It is available for different types of optical fibers. This allows terminals to be connected to the network over distances of up to 30 km. Since the software is based on Java Script and the HTML5 standard, it works with all browsers and operating systems.
From Linux to Windows to Apple and Android, the switches can be managed via PC and smartphone as well as tablet. For data backup and software update there are interfaces for USB stick and SD card. The diagnostics can be paired with alarms displayed via Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), e-mail, or relays. Redundancy techniques such as MRP (Media Redundancy Protocol) and RSTP (Rapid Spanning Tree) ensure fast reconfiguration of the network.
The switches can be managed via SNMP as well as the web interface and command-line interface. Since the user interface is similar to user-friendly operating concepts, the switches can be easily configured and monitored even without special IT knowledge. The evaluable parameters include, for example, the status of the ports, the temperature of the devices and their power supply, or the status of the fiber optic links.
The switches are standardly designed for single and multi-mode fibers connected via ST, SC or E-2000 connectors. On request, there are also versions for other types of optical fibers and connection techniques. The temperature range is -40 ° to + 70 ° C, the redundant power supply is specified with 12-70 VDC and the powder-coated stainless steel housing has the dimensions 145 x 70 x 130 mm for DIN rail mounting.
