Baumüller shows his solutions for networking in the Plant Automation, Under the motto "Automation in the Cloud", the company is showing the automation solutions for small-scale automation for modern machines and industrial plants. Based on standardized web technology, the manufacturer networks machines via a Scada server and thus enables the operation of entire systems conveniently via mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets. The developers focused on remote diagnostics and maintenance, which are even easier with the cloud.
Thanks to systematic modularization, not only in the fields of mechanics and electronics, but also in terms of software, Baumüller systems will in future offer machine builders significantly simplified variant management. The user defines the data that is essential for controlling and monitoring his technical processes. Machine builders and users would not have to worry about data security when networking, because this is an internal cloud in a company-owned network. This way, confidential data is safe from external access.
Modularity and reusability for improved variant management and short time-to-market enables a more extensive software kit, It contains all the necessary basic functionalities that are available modular, scalable and open in the form of building blocks. Once validated, these blocks can be repeatedly combined to form new technology modules without the need for retesting or time-consuming programming. For example, the "Coordinated Motion" library links PLC and CNC functions so that even complex motion control with little programming effort and without additional hardware is possible with a standard PLC.
There are also solutions for the Mobilitec Electromobility sector to see. With the "Powermela" drive, which was developed in a joint project with Sensor-Technik Wiedemann, the companies have developed a drive system with exceptional power and torque density.
