rauscher03162Pleora Technologies presents the first platform of Nbase-T products that transmit uncompressed, high-bandwidth GigE Vision-compatible images at speeds of up to 5 Gb / s over low-cost Cat 5e cables. With this vision (Rauscher sales), manufacturers of cameras and imaging devices can now support the increasing bandwidth requirements of applications in manufacturing, medicine, armaments and vehicle construction.

Nbase-T is an extension of the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet standard and was originally developed to enable higher transmission bandwidths for dual-core Cat 5e copper cables. The world's largest technology companies - Cisco, Intel, Xilinx, Altera and many others - are contributing to standardization efforts by demonstrating interoperability and bringing products to market. Pleora's NBASE-T platform supports throughput of 1 Gb / s, 2,5 Gb / s, and 5 Gb / s over major Cat 5e copper cables. The platform is also suitable for throughputs of 10 Gb / s over Cat 6A copper cable.

The manufacturer has granted selected manufacturers and end users an exclusive preview of its new platform. They see the technology as very clear as bandwidth needs grow and the specific cabling requirements and limited networking capabilities of existing frame grabbers create cost, design and performance issues. With the Nbase-T platform, manufacturers can meet the growing speed demands by using longer-distance, lower-cost, field-mountable cables, point-to-point multicasting, and lower-cost Ethernet network components.

The GigE Vision over Nbase-T Development Kit provides manufacturers with a simple approach to developing Nbase-T imaging products such as cameras, scanners, and X-ray flat panel detectors. Imaging Kit-designed imaging products work seamlessly with GigE Vision-compatible hardware and software.
